About Me

I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I am a wife. I am a mommy.

My name is Caroline Lamb (hence the name of this website, Mama Lamb).

My days are full of learning, growing, and playing with my toddler. I wouldn’t trade that for anything! My husband would tell you that I am the “Household Executive.” I genuinely enjoy cooking and keeping our house in order, after a fair share of messes, of course. My all-time favorite thing to do is to read great books. And, I have an equal love of being in the Great Smoky Mountains and of being at the beach. I also delight in cooking, creating, organizing, planning events, hosting in our home, time with family, teaching, learning, serving others and regular date nights with my husband (which are almost always spent cozied up at home with a homemade dessert). My family and I are always learning together, and as we learn, we practice metanoia kai paideia.

The heart of my website and services is
metanoia kai paideia,
which translates from Greek to
repentance and education.

I have loved learning and teaching for over 20 years. Yes, I am including my “non-professional” days. When I was in second grade, I would come home from school, and I would teach my little brother everything I learned. I wrote out schedules, lined up stuffed animal classmates, and planned extracurriculars. I even had a teacher’s assistant, the Halloween Witch, that stood at the front with me and threatened turning someone into a frog if they didn’t listen. To us, it was learning through play. By the time my brother went to kindergarten, he was a fluent reader and knew basic math.

I grew up having many imaginative adventures outside, making up games, attempting homemade ziplines, sliding down the stairs in sleeping bags, setting booby traps, writing plays for me and my siblings to act out, traveling, and making sweet memories with family both near and far.

For me, the ultimate game changer happened after I moved to Florida in my 9th grade year of high school. After the patience and persistence of many new friends, I started going to church. I became a Christian soon after and my life, my mind, my desires changed. I hungered for God’s Word and for living a godly life in Christ. I love looking back and remembering that as I asked questions, my pastor and youth pastor never just gave me an answer. They told me where to read in the Bible and then to come back to talk about what I read. I received wonderful discipleship and encouragement in the Lord and a tremendous amount of brotherly love. I learned how to serve others. I grew out of habits of foolish anger. I learned how to love and follow Jesus and to love and serve His Church.

With purpose and passion, I began teaching children’s Sunday School classes, organizing and leading VBS, going on mission trips, and organizing missions in the community with my friends. This furthered my desire to teach and to be a lifelong learner, and ultimately to be a wife and a mother.

Throughout the remainder of my high school years, I focused on pursuing an education degree. Throughout high school, I spent many hours logging community service and dual enrollment hours learning, serving, and practicing teaching in the local elementary school. I graduated with DCF certification so that I could teach in a preschool setting during college.

As I matured in the faith and continued to pursue teaching. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that is what I would do. Then, I discovered classical Christian education. Game changer! In classical Christian education, all of learning is integrated under the umbrella of a Biblical Worldview. All of Christ for all of life.

I did not get my degree in secular education. I could not continue down that path in good conscience. My degree and qualifications are a Batchelor’s Degree in International Studies, Cultural Anthropology, and Youth Ministry. Needless to say, I got the best bang for my buck, as I started to change my mind about institutionalized education. I was, and am, confident in the gifts, talents, and abilities that God has given me, and in His maturing and sanctifying work in my life. As I trusted Him, He provided.

After graduating from college, I taught at a classical Christian school for four beautiful years. With great joy, God provided a husband. I got married and not long after, the Lord blessed us with our first child. Game changer!
