“The LORD our God, the LORD is one. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

HOLISTIC LIVING

Why does it matter?

You are an eternal, embodied soul.

Throughout the Gospel accounts we read how Jesus had compassion on the people. He not only preached repentance and faith, but He also matched His words with His actions as He shepherded people to believe in Him. Jesus satisfied physical hunger, and He satisfied spiritual hunger. Jesus satisfied physical thirst, and He satisfied spiritual thirst. Jesus healed physical blindness and spiritual blindness. Jesus healed physical sickness, and spiritual sickness. Jesus healed physical death, and spiritual death. As Jesus rules and reigns from Heaven, He is still saving, shepherding, and satisfying His people.

As Christ followers, we are ministers of reconciliation, a royal priesthood, and emissaries of His kingdom. We are equipped with the Holy Spirit and the full armor of God to live godly lives in Christ. Our bodies and minds need nourishment from His Word. Our bodies and minds need nourishing food. Our bodies and minds need truth, goodness, and beauty that is rooted in Christ. Our bodies need strength and health from natural sources God has provided.

“Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
